MTN is operating in a complex and ever-changing business environment. This role will be instrumental in the provision of robust Group R&C function covering sanctions, export control and trade compliance, as well as 2nd line assurance on certain MTN businesses, as per management directives. There are, for example, ongoing operations in a fast-growing wholesale, sea cable and fibre operation under the MTN Bayobab trade name, as well as MTN Group's central Global Sourcing and Supply Chain (GSSC) operation, and certain Management Company (Manco) activities under MTN (Dubai) Ltd, all headquartered in Dubai. The role will ensure the roll-out, implementation and operationalising the Group R&C frameworks and provide oversight over the mentioned business operations.Predominantly, the role will participate and drive the ongoing enhancement, implementation and operationalisation of the Partner and Trade Compliance (PTC) function, organised in the MTN Group Risk and Compliance function. This PTC function is a strategically important function with three key objectives:Provide assurance that MTN's key Business Partners as well as MTN itself are operating in accordance with regulations and expectations in the areas of ABC, Conflicts of Interest, Data Privacy, Economic Sanctions, Embargoes, Export Controls, and ESG (Subject Areas);Act as a subject matter expert function and adviser in the areas of Economic Sanctions, Embargoes and Export Control;Be a single point of contact in managing MTN responses to Business Partner's Subject Area Questionnaires.The Partner and Trade Compliance function will work for MTN Group Manco and all MTN Group subsidiaries towards the successful design, implementation, and embedment of an adequate PTC framework intended to assure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and requirements in the Subject Areas. This PTC framework shall in the MTN ecosystem be applied to MTN Group and its Group functions, MTN Group subsidiaries majority owned by MTN such as FinCo, FibreCo and similar entities, and other MTN Group subsidiaries where MTN Group has management control.
