The Senior Manager Global Value Proposition Youth and Mass Market (YAMM) is part of the Global Value Propositions team in the Consumer Business Division at MTN. The position is primarily responsible for developing and implementing Global Value Propositions for the Youth and Mass Market segments (YAMM).
The Senior Manager, Global Value Proposition YAMM will report to the GM, Global Value Proposition. The position will interface with Opco stakeholders, Group Management Service stakeholders, and consumer divisional heads in order to ensure effective and efficient operations.
MTN is entering a new phase in its lifecycle where operational and commercial excellence has become critical for success. The urgency for change has become heightened amidst increased competitive intensity across all markets in which MTN operates. As part of the refreshed strategy for the next 5 years, MTN is embarking on the exciting journey of accelerating customer and revenue growth, moving away from a product-centric to a value proposition-centric approach to servicing consumers. The Senior Manager must therefore ensure successful delivery in the context of:

Strategy Development and ImplementationLead the creation of sub-divisional strategy in line with overarching divisional goals with emphasis on client experience (internal and external)Ensure effective implementation of sub-divisional strategy by providing direction, structure, business plans, and supportGovernanceSet up and participate in adhoc and operational meetingsProvide input into tactical meetingsReport at process and functional levelEscalate issues that will result in significant time, scope, employee/customer, or cost impacts if not resolvedManage and provide solutions to issues that require formal resolutionConsumer Business OperationalSet up and manage project status meetings for YAMMReview and identify key risks, issues, and dependencies and set mitigation actionsSign off/make decisions regarding operational changesConsumer Business TacticalProvide input into the review of all projects initiatedReview key risks, issues, and dependencies and set mitigation actionsReview performance against agreed KPIs and compliance to SLAsCreate and monitor a plan for continuous improvementReportingReport on a monthly basis to management relating to progress made within the sub-division and in accordance with the measurement metrics set by the organizationReport on an ad hoc basis on specific projects as and when necessaryBudgetsManage sub-divisional budgets in line with business objectivesManage project or initiative budgets in line with business objectivesOperational DeliveryAssist with the design and optimization of the segmented, simple, and sharp value propositions in Youth and Mass MarketProvide guidance to the MTN Unite approach through workgroups to ensure that global design fits 80% of Opco's customer needsDefine and deliver the standardization (80% global / 20% local) and replication of the global value propositionProvide inputs to the detailed standardization of the end-to-end process for implementation of a global value propositionConduct competitive analysis, customer segmentation, and thoughtful product positioningAssist in the coordination with other business development professionals in other regions to ensure best practice for the sales engagement processPromote the adoption of MTN infrastructure, virtualization, cloud, middleware, and storage technologies within the global telecommunications marketQualify, establish, and maintain a high awareness of MTN value propositions to all traditional telecommunications customers and partnersFacilitate and manage reciprocal engagements with partners and customer client teamsCollaboration / CoordinationEnsure team collaboration with Quality Assurance and Internal Audit teams to perform periodic quality and process auditsCollaborate with other functional heads to enhance key elements of the consumer business modelCollaborate with Group Management Services and Opco leaders to add and/or modify the suite of services/support provided and develop standard templates and reportsManage enterprise-wide projects and initiativesMinimum QualificationsMinimum Bachelor's degree in relevant field of studyPost-graduate degree an advantage (preferred)5 – 7 years of relevant work experience in a global/multinational business environment (understanding of emerging markets advantageous)5 – 7 years of experience in a supervisory/managerial roleExperience in leading change/transformation (marketing) at an operational level advantageousExperience in continuous improvement through the implementation of best practicesExperience in value proposition creation
