Job Summary To manage CIB events and sponsorship activations portfolio by ensuring alignment to business strategy, brand, marketing and communications objectives. Additionally, they will oversee the efficient and effective implementation thereof. The ideal candidate needs to be meticulous and organized, creating compelling brand experiences for Absa CIB colleagues and clients. Will report to the Managing Executive: CIB Marketing and Communications and have 3 direct reports. Minimum of 5 years' experience in financial services and/or B2B events and sponsorship activations, with at least 3 years at a Senior Manager level.
Job Description Strategic Planning: Strategic planning, continuous plan review and management of the annual (internal and external) Absa CIB events and activation plan. Work and collaborate with the Absa CIB Marketing and Communications team to drive and ensure integrated marketing and internal / external events planning and implementation. Ensure efficiency and effectiveness of events by delivering activities on plan and budget. Use events data for future planning and decision making. Project Management: Collaboratively define, coordinate and lead the successful execution of the Absa CIB events and sponsorship activations. Establish and articulate project scope, strategy and objectives on all delivery. Drive all events aspects, including (but not limited to): Meeting deadlines, contingency planning, approval channels, procedures, budgeting, monitoring and governance, etc. Plan and use internal and external resources effectively to ensure maximum ROMI. Research, plan and evaluate project impact at various intervals (pre-, during- and post project reviews). Manage risk and compliance. People Management: Oversee the activities of the team to ensure effective delivery. Develop a high performing team by embedding formal performance development and informal coaching. Encourage frequent knowledge sharing between team members. Determine and analyze developmental needs for the team and ensure that identified training requirements are budgeted for and executed. Establish and maintain a succession plan for the team. Interview and recruit new members of the team, including determining appropriate compensation levels with input from Human Capital. Create effective workforce and recruitment demand plans to ensure that current and future business requirements can be met. Plans should be revised at least twice a year. Review and conduct performance reviews to ensure fit for purpose human resources and capabilities. Motivate team members for performance and ensure that their efforts are recognized. Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain positive and collaborative working relationships across the business and with external parties. Network and interact with various internal and external stakeholders to promote and drive integration. Liaise closely with and manage third party supplier relationships to adhere to good governance and ensure adherence to agency SLAs. Risk Management: Ensure that processes, control requirements and risk management frameworks that have been designed are adhered to. For audit findings that have an impact on the area, work to understand what actions are required to close out findings and implement required actions. During scheduled audits and management assurance reviews, ensure that all information required by the auditors is provided timeously. Log all Risk and Loss events as a result of error or possible fraud highlighted in the department. Ensure that the issues are thoroughly investigated and closed or escalated as per policy. Ensure that the team understands all compliance requirements and highlight gaps. Ensure that all regulatory requirements are adhered to. Education and experience: Degree in Commerce/Marketing/Communications or equivalent NQF 7 level qualification. Minimum of 5 years' experience in financial services and/or B2B events and sponsorship activations, with at least 3 years at a Senior Manager level. Knowledge and skills: Business Planning and Financial Management. Strategic brand management. Project management. People management and capacity planning. Budget management. Research and trends analysis. Consumer behaviour and insights. Risk Management (Legal, reputational, operational, etc.). Education Bachelor's Degrees and Advanced Diplomas: Marketing (Required)
