Initiation and development of subject material.
Development and Supervision: The preparation and delivery of lectures and seminars.
Supervision of the program of study of honours students or of postgraduate students engaged in course work.
Teaching activities include initiation and development of unit materials and may include the supervision of honours and research students.
Research and Innovation: Supervision of major honours or postgraduate research projects.
The conduct of research.
Involvement in professional activity.
Academic leadership: Development of course material with appropriate advice from and support of more senior employees.
Consultation with students.
Minimum requirements A master's degree in Counselling Psychology (NQF level 9).
Registered as a Counselling Psychologist with the HPCSA.
A minimum of three (3) years' experience in teaching and learning (blended contact sessions with university students).
A minimum of three (3) years' experience in research and innovation (stable publication record, a minimum of two (2) published articles and supervision of postgraduate students towards graduation).
A minimum of three (3) years' experience in Generic Counselling Psychology (direct practice and/or Counselling Psychology supervisory/ managerial).
KEY FUNCTIONAL/TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES: Ability and experience to work from an evidence-based approach in psychology.
Excellent communication skills (verbally and written).
Demonstration of language proficiency to function optimally in the various multilingual environments of the NWU.
Computer literacy (Microsoft office, e-mails, power point, software for data analysis).
