Minimum requirements
Senior Lecturer

Doctorate in Food Science or Food Technology.
A minimum of five years of teaching experience at a university level.
Publications in DHET-accredited journals (minimum of three DHET-accredited publications over the preceding three years).
Evidence of successful supervision of postgraduate students (minimum of one Master's student).
Recipient of grant awards.

Lecturer

Master's degree in Food Science or Food Technology.
Minimum of 3 years teaching/industrial experience.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Teach food science, legislation, and/or food microbiology modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the Food Science/ Biotechnology Programmes and to all faculties to which the Faculty of Applied Sciences renders service in undergraduate and honours level programs.
Manage/co-ordinate academic and research portfolios.
Supervise undergraduate/postgraduate students.
Participate in community engagement projects.
Perform other duties as determined by the Head of Department.
