Job Purpose:
Teach on the undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Conduct research and supervise postgraduate students. Engage in community projects and project consultancy work. Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
A Doctoral degree in Industrial/ Systems Engineering, Engineering Management, Technology Management or related discipline. All underpinning qualifications in industrial/ Systems Engineering. A minimum of four (4) years of academic experience in higher education or relevant industrial experience at the appropriate senior level. Proven ability to lecture at the postgraduate level, including Master's, Postgraduate Diploma, and Advanced Diploma courses. Demonstrated experience in supervising postgraduate students, with a successful track record in line with institutional requirements. Evidence of research publications in reputable academic journals and platforms. Currently registered with, or eligible to register with, the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) or in the relevant category within 12 months of appointment. Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities:
Assisting with the coordination of all academic activities relating to, but not limited to: Lecturing Industrial Engineering, Engineering Management, and Quality subjects in the department. Develop innovative teaching and learning materials. Contribute to curriculum and programme development. Promote community participation, linkages, outreach and industry liaison. Supervise and mentor students. Assessment and academic development. Assist with departmental administration. Participate in the Quality Assurance activities of the Department. Ensure good quality assurance practice. Demonstrate lecturing ability. Understanding of good assessment practices. Knowledge of curriculum development. Computer literacy with good organizational and time management skills. Knowledge and understanding of the technology and development in the field. Proficient in English (written and spoken). Research Skills. Coaching and mentoring skills. Demonstrate ability in post-graduate supervision. Strong learner focus. Aptitude for continuous learning. General Information:
