Job description
The Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Johannesburg, wishes to appoint a senior lecturer qualified in the field of Sport Management, who will contribute actively towards teaching and learning, research, and CPD development; in line with the vision, mission, and goals of the University of Johannesburg.
The successful candidate is expected to undertake undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research supervision respectively, contribute to the development and review of undergraduate teaching and curricula, and, where necessary, become involved in community outreach activities and CPD activities, in line with the discipline/departmental specific objectives.
Responsibilities:
Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students in the Faculty of Health Sciences (Department of Sport and Movement Studies).
Actively participating in the research focus areas of the department, producing outputs such as journal papers.
Facilitate teaching and learning within the domain of Sport Management and cognate disciplines.
Facilitate theory and practice integration.
Actively involved in core activities of the department such as academic administration, course development, consulting, and community-related projects.
Minimum requirements
Doctoral Degree or equivalent in Sport Management or cognate discipline.
A minimum of three (3) years' teaching experience in Human Movement Studies, Sport Management or its related subfields within a recognised academic higher education institution.
A proven track record of research and scholarly publications in DHET accredited journals.
Record of successful postgraduate supervision.
