Job Purpose
Laboratory Management, Health and safety management in the laboratories, Laboratory materials and equipment management, maintenance and resourcing, Practical demonstration and supervision, Postgraduate student support.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience
A BTech/ AdvDiploma/ Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering.
Minimum of 5 years relevant industrial and/or tertiary education experience in Chemical Engineering.
Knowledge and understanding of the latest technology and developments in the field Chemical Engineering.
Experience in demonstrating and supervision of Chemical Engineering practicals and projects in a tertiary institution, will be an added advantage.
Masters qualification in Chemical Engineering, will be an added advantage.
Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities
Supervise and demonstrate laboratory practicals and research projects.
Ordering of Chemical, materials and equipment for the laboratories.
Supervise students' laboratory practicals and undergraduate projects.
Organise and manage Chemical Engineering laboratory facilities.
Health and safety management of the laboratories.
Support postgraduate students and supervisors in their research.
Assist with departmental administration.
Manage laboratory budget.
