Purpose of the job: The Senior Laboratory Analyst will be a key team member, collaborating with various departments.
This role ensures high quality standards, adheres to the Quality Management System, and performs analytical services to meet client needs, complying with SAHPRA requirements.
The analyst will carry out analytical methods and SOPs, reporting results accurately and precisely.
This role ensures timely and confidential reporting of analytical results for various samples.
Minimum Requirements: Grade 12 Chemistry or related Diploma/Degree Thorough knowledge of statistics Minimum 5 years laboratory experience as an analyst in the Pharmaceutical Industry.
Minimum 3 years experience in performing Method Development, Method Validation, Method Verification, and Method Transfer.
Minimum 3 years experience in Technical Result Review.
Own transport Willing and able to work shifts (weekly rotation) Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct analytical tasks as assigned by laboratory management, adhering to relevant guidelines and standard operating procedures.
Analyze samples in accordance with Good Laboratory Practice, Good Manufacturing Guidelines, and applicable Standard Operating Procedures.
Troubleshoot laboratory operations and provide analytical input.
Calibrate laboratory apparatus using appropriate standards, following the calibration program established by the Laboratory Supervisor and relevant SOPs.
Prepare, calculate, and report raw analytical data in compliance with ALCOA+ principles.
Maintain laboratory Quality Management System according to Good Documentation, Manufacturing, and Laboratory Practices.
Prepare reagents accurately and correctly, following SOPs and applicable methods, and documenting all relevant details (e.g., reference method, pH, temperature).
Optimize laboratory equipment to minimize re-runs and additional tests.
Collaborate with the Technical Team on method verification, validation, transfer, and technical projects.
Perform cross-checks of analytical results as required by Laboratory Management.
Conduct technical reviews of analytical results as required by Laboratory Management.
Perform general laboratory duties as assigned in the laboratory duty list and as reasonably requested.
Contribute to operational planning as directed by Laboratory Management.
Review and develop SOPs in collaboration with the QA team.
Provide training on SOPs and laboratory techniques to other analysts.
Maintain laboratory productivity in accordance with established lead times and key performance indicators.
Participate in laboratory safety procedures as required by management.
Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by management or the employer.
