Senior Hvac Commissioning Technician

Responsibilities:- Commissioning of large industrial HVAC Systems- Experience in Air balancing and air quality management.- Cold and hot commissioning of new installations.- Good Understanding of instrumentation and controls- Familiar with large project quality management systems (QCPs and ITPs)- Need to have work experience on industrial sites (Power generation ESKOM, Petro Chem, SmeltersPharmaceuticals, refineries etc)- Understand the working principles and operation of central plant air-conditioning systems withmultiple zones.- Understand the working principals and operation of chilled water systems.- Understand electrical wiring diagrams, schematics and P & I Diagrams.- Ability to fault find HVAC mechanical and electrical breakdowns and trace the root causes.- Is expected to travel for short periods of time to commission and service nationwide HVAC plantsand installations.- The ability to persevere and put in extra hours if and when necessary.- Inspection of electrical and hand tools- Working at elevated positions.- Following safe hot work practices (cutting, grinding, drilling, tacking, jacking)- Determine correct PPE to be worn for a specific job.- Able to complete job risk assessment.- Good housekeeping practicesMinimum Qualifications- Matric- N3 with the subjects Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Trade Theory- Red Seal Trade tested artisanExperience- Minimum 5-10 years field experience in Industrial Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration- Previous experience in Commissioning and Servicing chilled water HVAC Plant installations in the Industrial Manufacturing and Pharmaceutical Sectors.
