Position Overview:The Senior Group Quality Manager will oversee the quality assurance and control processes across two manufacturing plants.
This role is crucial for ensuring that products meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
The successful candidate will lead quality initiatives, maintain regulatory compliance and drive continuous improvement efforts across both facilities. Key Responsibilities:Quality Assurance and Control:Develop, implement, and enforce quality assurance policies and procedures across both manufacturing plants.Oversee quality control processes at every stage of production, from raw material sourcing to finished product packaging.
Regulatory Compliance:Ensure all products and processes comply with local, state, and federal food safety regulations.Prepare for and lead regulatory audits and inspections, ensuring both plants meet required standards.
Quality Systems Management:Implement and maintain quality management systems (QMS) in line with industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, HACCP).Conduct regular internal audits and inspections to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
Continuous Improvement:Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality processes, reduce waste, and increase efficiency.Utilize data and metrics to identify trends and implement corrective actions.
Team Leadership:Manage and mentor quality assurance teams at both manufacturing plants.Provide training and development opportunities to ensure staff are knowledgeable about quality standards and best practices.
Supplier Quality Management:Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure the consistent quality of raw materials and ingredients.Conduct supplier audits and performance evaluations.
Customer Feedback and Complaint Management:Investigate and address customer complaints related to product quality.Implement corrective actions to resolve issues and prevent recurrence.
Risk Management:Identify potential risks to product quality and develop strategies to mitigate them.Implement robust food safety and quality control measures to prevent contamination and ensure product safety.
Reporting and Documentation:Maintain accurate records of quality assurance activities and results.Prepare detailed reports for senior management on quality performance and improvement initiatives
Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in food science, Quality Management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in a quality management role within the food manufacturing industry.In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and quality standards (e.g., FDA, HACCP, ISO).Proven track record of managing quality assurance across multiple sites.Strong leadership and team management skills.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior management.Certification in Quality Management (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing) is a plus
