This role is pivotal in providing specialized geotechnical engineering expertise across diverse projects, from inception to fruition. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver top-notch solutions aligned with client objectives and industry standards.Responsibilities:Conduct thorough geotechnical investigations, site assessments, and feasibility studies to evaluate ground conditions and offer tailored recommendations for engineering ventures.Prepare meticulous geotechnical reports encompassing insightful interpretations of site investigations, comprehensive analysis of geotechnical data, and well-founded design proposals.Execute geotechnical analyses utilizing cutting-edge software and methodologies, including but not limited to slope stability analysis, foundation design, and numerical modeling.Provide adept technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technical personnel, fostering professional growth within the team.Facilitate effective communication and collaboration with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure strict adherence to project requirements and pertinent regulations.Actively engage in project meetings, site visits, and inspections as deemed necessary to uphold project integrity.Contribute to the firm's business development initiatives, including but not limited to proposal formulation, client presentations, and networking endeavors.Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and advancements in geotechnical engineering, integrating relevant knowledge into project deliverables.Requirements:Hold a Bachelor's degree (BSc/BEng) in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.Possess Professional Engineer (PrEng) registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) or eligibility to obtain such registration.Bring to the table a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in geotechnical engineering, with a specific focus on the Transport sector.Demonstrate a solid grasp of soil and rock mechanics, underpinning the foundation of successful geotechnical projects.Showcase expertise in designing foundations for various structures, slope stabilization techniques, ground improvement methodologies, and earthworks and retention structure design.Proficiency in foundation and pile design, settlement analysis, earth pressure calculations, slope stability assessments, and bearing capacity evaluations is highly advantageous.Exhibit proficiency in geotechnical analysis and design software to effectively execute project requirements.Possess exemplary communication skills, both verbal and written, coupled with strong collaborative abilities to thrive in a team-oriented environment.This role presents an exciting opportunity for a dynamic professional to make significant contributions within a renowned engineering consultancy firm committed to excellence.
