Duties and Responsibilities: Assembly of C, A & F units from sub-assemblies and related components, size 70 -90Assembly of Transmittal units from assemblies and related components, size 3 00 to 3 21 Assembly of combined Transmittal C, A, F, worm drive units & HDO_HDPAssembly of HDO and HDP gearboxesAssembly and set up input torque protection devicesFinal fitment of ancillary itemsAssembly with stock takes when requiredMaintaining the correct level of gearbox shim stockASSEMBLY & PRODUCTION Execution of the production plan in terms of priorities and capacityLiaising with supervisor, supply chain and logistics department regarding missing components and anticipated incoming shipmentsControl of breakdowns in order to optimize service levels and minimize disruptionExecution of CSIs (Customer Specific Instructions) as per the internal works orderHighlight any deviations or risk as soon as identifiedTap threadsAssemble and align pulleysMeasure and set tension on v-beltsFit pulleys, baseplates, guards, safety covers etc.Assemble couplings and check nun-out/alignment with dial gaugeCheck gear backlash and end playAssemble gearbox to drawingRaise any deviation from standard to supervisorInstall pipe workheating of bearings, pressing with hydraulic jack etc.Monitoring and controlling of station production throughoutFINISHING AND TESTING: Perform unit completion for the panting, plugging and lubrication of gearboxesPerform and complete test and inspection proceduresControl of quality documentationEnsure any specific quality inspections is communicated to relevant learnSet-up of test bench and measurement equipmentPerform QC checks during the assembly processEnsure tasks performed to Bonfiglioli standardsMeeting delivery commitmentsMACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT Control of general tooling issued to productionControl of and safeguarding of special toolingMaintenance of machinery (HD Assembly equipment)Servicing of machinery in terms of Statutory, manufacturers requirements and as per the maintenance schedule/matrixPREMISES Maintain a clean, neat and safe working environment by performing housekeeping and otherAdhering to company policies and proceduresSTATUTORY REQUIREMENTS: Implementation of procedures for compliance with the applicable Safety & Occupational ActsMaintaining Safety& Occupational recordsQUALITY CONTROL Implementation of quality control procedures at all levels of the operation to a recognized specification Maintenance of quality control procedures and related documentation including non-conformanceEnsure traceability and risk mitigationAttend quality meeting as and when requiredDesired Experience & Qualification Suitable academic qualification and where applicable technical qualification as defined Trade test (fitter and turner or equivalent)Certification as a Basic geared motor assemblerTECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to read workshop orders, BOMs & assembly instructionsAbility to identify components with component descriptions and verify by measurement processesAn understanding of the catalogue in terms of product descriptions and configuration.A knowledge of the proper use of all tooling including air tools, pneumatic Screwdrivers & torque wrenchesAbility to use measurement equipment including dial gauge, verniers & micrometersAbility to use electrical measurement equipment including multi meters, tachometers, motor testing equipment and test boards.Ability to fault find and rectify problems such as gear knocks & pressure leaksAbility to configure and assemble bevel helical gear sets and input bearing assembliesAbility to assemble back stop bearings and anti-run back devicesAbility to use external oil fill & pressure machineryA detailed knowledge of quality steps and procedures application to the respective assembly process An in-depth knowledge of mounting configurations and its impact on gearbox lubrication.
