JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Financial Reporting Specialist is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the preparation, analysis, and distribution of financial reports for both internal and external stakeholders. S/he will ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards, and timely delivery of financial information to support decision-making and regulatory requirements.
JOB REQUIREMENTS Cashbook processing and managementCashflow managementMonthly Balance Sheet ReconciliationsMonthly, quarterly and annual closingsManage Accounts receivable, assets and all reportingManagement of Revenue, Grants and FP DebtorsPrepare financial statements and working papers.Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements in all financial reporting.Preparation of financial reports for internal and external stakeholders (NT, DSAC, Auditors, etc)Collaborate with internal departments, such as corporate governance and Heritage and Knowledge, to gather necessary information for reporting.Maintain accurate and organized financial records, ensuring that data reconciliations and audits are performed regularly.Assist with internal and external audit processMonitor changes in accounting standards and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance in financial reporting.Assist in the development and implementation of reporting processes and controls to improve efficiency and accuracy.Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.Contribute to special projects related to financial reporting enhancements or system implementations.Any Ad hoc as required and directed by Finance Manager.EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree (NQF 7) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Minimum 3 years post CA (SA) qualification experience.Strong GRAP technical knowledge and knowledge of CaseWare.Proficiency in financial reporting software and tools.Strong knowledge of financial analysis techniques and data interpretation.Excellent understanding of regulatory requirements related to financial reporting and disclosure.Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.Advanced Skills in Microsoft Excel for data manipulation and analysis.COMPETENCIES A hands-on individual who can operate independently and with minimum supervision.An analytical thinker, able to communicate with clients and staff in a clear and proactive manner.Ability to provide an internal service promptly, in accordance with company standards.Good planning and organizational skills.Excellent problem-solving and analyzing skills.Applications for internal candidates must be on an internal application form.
