Position Overview:We are seeking a highly capable individual to take on the responsibility of overseeing all financial systems and managing the financial team. The role requires leadership skills, financial expertise, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. The successful candidate will report directly to the directors and will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, compliance with tax regulations, payroll oversight, and various other financial and administrative tasks. While a chartered accountant qualification is preferred, candidates with extensive relevant experience and strong business acumen will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities:Financial Team Management:Direct management of a team of four individuals, including one cashbook & ledger clerk, two creditor clerks, and one HR administrator.Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to the team members to ensure their professional development and performance excellence.Contract Schedule Reporting:Prepare and present comprehensive contract schedule reports to the directors, including analysis of contract provisions and financial implications.Banking and Treasury Management:Review banking facilities regularly, manage treasury functions effectively to optimize cash flow and liquidity.Collaborate with the administrator to manage online banking activities and ensure secure financial transactions.General Ledger Integrity:Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.Tax Compliance:Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including PAYE, VAT, and income tax.Handle all tax-related tasks, including monthly VAT and EMP returns, annual tax calculations, and interactions with tax authorities.Payroll Oversight:Supervise the entire payroll process, conducting monthly reviews and issuing necessary documents such as IRP5s, EMP501s, and tax directives.Manage medical aid and provident fund administration.Statutory Requirements:Attend to annual WCA/FEMA declarations and maintain staff records for leave and other ad hoc issues.Liaise with auditors and ensure compliance with statutory requirements such as CIPC and Stats SA.Insurance and BEE Compliance:Oversee the annual insurance review to assess coverage and mitigate risks.Assist with BEE annual audit, particularly focusing on financial matters, and liaise with auditors as required.Drafting of annual financial statements and monthly management accounts.Legal and Contractual Matters:Manage legal matters such as credit applications, credit bureau interactions, and contract drafting.Provide ad hoc advice on legal and business matters, including compliance with the Companies Act.IT Support:Provide support and input on IT matters where required.Director Support:Offer support to the directors on legal, business, valuation, and other relevant matters as they arise.Qualifications and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification preferred but not essential.Proven experience in financial management, preferably in a similar role within the construction or related industry.Strong understanding of tax regulations and compliance requirements.Experience in managing payroll processes and statutory reporting.Excellent leadership and communication skills.Proficiency in financial software and IT systems.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.Sound business acumen and ability to provide strategic financial guidance.Familiarity with legal and contractual matters is advantageous.Experience in the Construction Industry would be advantageous.Package & RemunerationR850 000.00 to R950 000.00
