PFG is the leading manufacturer of float glass in Southern Africa, as well as laminated glass and mirrors. The company produces 260,000 tons of float glass products per annum, supplying into both domestic and international building and automotive industries.
Main job purpose:
Manage and coordinate the financial function, drive compliance to legislation, policies and procedures, and ensure consistent and accurate financial planning, forecasting, and reporting in order to facilitate financial decision making, drive business performance, and mitigate risk.
Main Objective:
The attainment of a high standard of financial reporting as required by the directorate and ultimate holding company (monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated reporting as well as ad hoc reporting requirements).
Contribute towards the attainment of PFG goals by meeting/exceeding the department's targets.
Manage and control the budget and forecast processes to meet reporting requirements.
Motivate staff; manage the appraisal of their performance on a regular basis; and plan their career development together with the Financial Director.
Manage the interface with Shared Services ensuring delivery issues are constructively dealt with.
Provide the liaison between the division and head office (and ensure high standards in terms of delivery to the head office).
Manage the annual audit process.
Assist with management of divisional risk by reporting on risks, identifying new risks, and implementing risk mitigation actions with regards to insurance, foreign exchange trade remedies, process controls, and governance.
Prevent fruitless and wasteful spend (OPEX) and ensure that returns (CAPEX) are measured to improve the financial result.
Improve business decision-making capability by ensuring that the costing and profitability accounting transparently reflects the impact of the respective cost and profitability drivers.
