Job Purpose The Senior ER & HC Business Partner will work with the leadership team to implement the Human Capital strategy, to ensure that the business executes on the people agenda. The role is responsible for providing guidance on matters relating to company policy and labour relations. Key to the success of the role is the ability to develop strategic partnerships with the business leaders to deliver consistent high-quality HR services with experience in Employee Relations risk mitigation.
Key Outcomes Supports leadership team on people issues:Translates business requirements into effective HC practices delivering people solutions aligned to the objectives for the business areaInfluences leadership around people agenda and issuesOwns talent management for the business area:Builds leadership competence through coaching and guides line management around people processesImplements talent management framework (including succession management)Identifies the immediate and long-term talent issues that impact the area and put appropriate plans in place to addressAgree suitable strategies to ensure talent pipelines are in place at leadership, technical and operational levels to meet the performance and growth objectives of the business areaEnsures the retention of high performing and high potential employees through the proper management of learning and development opportunities, mentoring, coaching and rewardSupports the business with the recruitment and placement of talentIdentifies critical and scarce skills for business unit and agree strategies with all relevant COE's (e.g. Talent acquisition, L&D & Total Rewards) to ensure appropriate pipelines over short and longer termHelps to shape the culture:Ensures that values and leadership standards are communicated and understood at all levels in business areaHelps the business area establish and maintain high levels of employee engagementAssists the business to drive participation in employee engagement initiatives and partners with the business to develop solutions to address any engagement concernsDelivers key HR initiatives as the key interface:Partners with key stakeholders within business area to ensure that all HC projects are appropriately communicatedCo-ordinates project integration initiatives into annual planFacilitates reward processes:Supports the leadership during the annual remuneration and employee benefits review processDrives the transformation agenda:Supports business in developing their EE plan (including numerical targets and AA actions)Facilitates the alignment of business strategy and EE planEnsures execution of all initiatives in line with the BU EE PlanManages employee relations processes:Acts as first line of contact for any employee relations matter ensuring all risks are managed within the framework of best practice and all relevant legislationTo provide an end-to-end case management service with regards to all ER processes to ensure complianceFacilitate, investigate and close out HR related Hotline casesAdvise and educate management and employees on HC policies and procedures to ensure adherenceImplement and execute all people processes and practices fairlySupport, develop and coach line managers to manage employee relations mattersMonitors ER indicators e.g number of disputes, grievances and recommends corrective action for enhanced ER reportingSupport HC team on ER matters to minimize riskQualifications and Experience Degree or Diploma in HR/Law/ Employee Relations related field with 4 to 6 years related experience or qualified by extensive experienceA strong understanding of HR legislation and labour law with the ability to apply relevant legislations in the work environmentExpert knowledge of the LRA, BCEA, EE and regulationsCollective Bargaining Process KnowledgeClient focusCommunication (verbal and written)Effective analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong attention to detail and organisational skillsConflict managementNegotiation and Mediation skillsAttributes Honesty, integrity and respectTeamworkAbility to work in a high-paced environmentFlexibility and adaptabilityWhat will make you successful in this role? Qualification and Experience Degree or Diploma with 3 to 5 years human resources experience, or qualified by extensive experience.
