ProSidian Seeks a Senior Environmental Consulting Specialist (Oil and Gas - Petroleum) [541690 Contract Contingent] located in Cape Town South Africa to support an engagement for U.S. Govt. International Technical Assistance Program (ITAP) providing assistance on technical, regulatory, environmental, and financial management for national development on a range of energy and non-energy resources.
Key Areas of Focus: Policy, legal, and regulatory reformTechnical, operational, and economic analysisFinancial mechanisms and market creationEconomic management, transparency and fiscal policyEnvironmental impacts and social and community issues related to resource developmentCandidates shall work to support requirements as a Senior Environmental Consulting Specialist (Oil and Gas - Petroleum) and provide industry technical expertise, experience, training, and support with Energy, Extractives, and Renewable Energy concerns related to Environmental concerns covering the direct and indirect environmental impacts of energy acquisition, transport, production and use related to and resulting from the Oil and Gas - Petroleum Industry.
This position requires comprehensive knowledge within various functional areas that meet objectives and ensure compliance with environmental processes, standards, and policies. This position may train and mentor Energy, Extractives, and Renewable Energy stakeholders and provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult and complex problems and support the implementation of overall Environmental Policy, Compliance, and Strategy constructs.
Responsibilities: Provide consulting and support to help client stakeholders ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.Assist in the interpretation of applicable environmental regulations and develop, review, and implement guidelines, procedures, and processes.Conduct scientific studies and investigations in accordance with established procedures.Prepare, coordinate, or supervise the preparation/completion of technical environmental resource reports and environmental permit applications.Provide Environmental policy advice, assistance, training, and support for compliance programs.Develop solutions to problems encountered and coordinate various technical aspects of work.Minimum Requirements: Bachelor degree in Environmental Science, Geosciences, Natural Resources or related discipline.
