Job Description Project Environment Reviewing/approving GE02 / GE05 deadlines Attend EAP kick-off meetings Review specialist sensitivities (no-go kml) Attend CA Pre-application meetings Review listed activities (prior to DBAR/DEIAr release) Review water use authorization risk assessments (as required) prior to application commencement Review comment and response report Lead NGO engagement/problem solving – be ESA touch point and Lead appeal responses Lead biodiversity offset problem solving, ToR, appointment and specialist workstreams in conjunction with the relevant project developer Maintain and update the standard project descriptions as and when new environmental requirements necessitate changes Maintain and ensure the project development library is up to date where new regulations are Manage the BIC process as and when required to ensure up to date process descriptions Environmental Consultant Management Review EAP/Specialist RFPs / recommend EAPs Review EAP/Specialist proposal evaluations/recommendations – including proposed specialist team Review SOW in Consulting Agreements Maintain/update EAP/specialist database - PD to highlight problematic EAPs/specialists/mitigation measures/restrictive buffers to note in database Support and Mentoring Update and manage the signed land database Manage the signed land visualization tool Manage the prospecting visualisation tool Manage the competitor visualisation tool and database Adhoc Activities Assisting with due diligence during project acquisition Contribute to the competitor database Assist with environmental matters where required for auction programmes Construction & Operations Monitor conditions of EA conditions and the impact on Assist with asset level reporting as required Qualifications Bachelor or Master Degree in Environmental Management or similar 5- 10 years relevant experience Understanding of environmental law and management, terminology and contracts Experience and understanding of the EIA process and NEMA Knowledge of project development and environmental impacts Well-developed report writing and communication skills Additional Information Personal Competencies Communicative Skills Objective and professional conviction Ability to work in a team Emotional influence and conviction (negotiation, sales, leadership, conflict and crisis management) Foreign Language Skills Business fluent in English, another South African official language and German are a plus What counts for us is your ability and your motivation to advance renewable energies with us - not age, disability, gender, skin color, origin, sexual orientation or religion.
