Company DescriptionWe are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to our UG TMM (mobile maintenance) and Fixed Plant Engineering teams. Job DescriptionJob responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Lead the development of TMM and Infrastructure engineering strategy in support of the underground project and mine.Lead and support the development of effective execution strategies and tactics to ensure successful delivery of the UG project and then ramp up of producing mine.Manage resources to deliver production targets and projects as required.Conduct benchmarks to keep abreast with new technologies that ensure continuous improvement and asset optimisation.Manage budget utilisation to ensure successful delivery of the UG project and mine ramp up where engineering support is concerned.Monitor compliance to all Group, BU and other engineering and asset management standards and specifications within the area of accountability.Oversee compliance with all legal, environmental, occupational health and safety and risk management standards and best practices.Provide leadership, coaching, and training to achieve safe work systems for maintenance of the underground mining fleet, infrastructure and facilities.Provide strong visible leadership to the Underground Maintenance teams and strive for a safe workplace free of incidents.Develop, implement and maintain reliability strategies, initiatives and solutions across the Mogalakwena Underground mining fleet.Develop and manage a comprehensive maintenance plan for assets under your control based on best practice and consistent with the Business Plan.Plan, develop and implement new methods and procedures designed to continually improve operations, minimise operating costs, and effect greater utilization of the fleet through the research and implementation of technology, systems and processes.Undertake appropriate maintenance practices to achieve industry leading levels of availability and reliability at the lowest possible cost to operations.Monitor and audit maintenance systems and processes to ensure compliance with relevant safety standards and regulations.Implement a purpose-driven, high-performing culture that is aligned with the company values, is inclusive and promotes diversity, supports engagement and fosters continuous improvement to work processes.Supportive and inspirational leadership style.Ability to coach and mentor to develop the personnel into highly effective team.This role is at a band 5 level reporting to the General Manager Mogalakwena Underground. QualificationsA formal qualification in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant discipline. Qualifications Bachelor's degree from Tier 1 university.Experience, Knowledge and Skills10+ years' experience leading a high-performing underground mechanised mining engineering team – full scale modern equipment fleets and best practice maintenance systems.Demonstrated experience in Maintenance and Asset management in an underground environment.A proven background in the management of engineers, supervisors and maintenance staff.Significant experience in developing and implementation of maintenance strategies, facilities and practices in large scale underground mechanised mining projects, with best practice operating and maintenance standards.Experience in project management (rig refurbishments, new builds, major equipment overhauls and stacking).Sound understanding of maintenance practices and experience with electronic maintenance and asset management systems.Demonstrated experience with managing mining electrical, mine infrastructure (surface and underground) and mine facilities within an Engineering team.Demonstrated working knowledge of mine safety procedures and regulations preferably in an underground environment.Develop and detail the execution of asset maintenance strategies and systems for underground mining operations.Determine, mitigate and remove Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Hazards from the underground mining operations through asset management practices and maintenance procedures.Align the asset strategy decisions with the business demands for growth, cost reduction, free-cashflow or operational change.Understand complex underground mining issues and represent potential mechanical or equipment operational solutions to resolve through stakeholder engagement.Apply knowledge, judgment and experience to problems, demonstrating your extensive underground mechanised mining experience.Additional InformationValid EB/Code 08 driver's licence.Medical certificate of fitness.Work on site at Mine operation will be required.
