AECOM is looking to recruit a Senior Engineer - Civil Infrastructure.
Job description:
Design and planning of civil engineering infrastructure such as earthworks/grading, roads, stormwater, sewer and water across various market sectors.
The role will entail:
Design development, design review, coordination and management of resources, ad-hoc site supervision, preparation and/or review of typical deliverables e.g. design calculations, reports, drawings, bill of quantities, technical specifications and project documentation.
Guiding junior engineers/technical resources and largely performing tasks independently to complete design/project deliverables.
Mentoring junior staff.
Coordinating/managing/leading small to mid-sized teams on a project-by-project basis.
Supporting the execution of projects in accordance with AECOM Quality Management System requirements.
Performing specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment as an experienced engineer.
Providing specialised technical input into studies and design work for the infrastructure design discipline and identifying discrepancies in results.
Developing design by gathering, correlating and analysing engineering data using computer software and established procedures and standards.
Following existing or developing design procedures to facilitate high-quality, cost-effective work by self and others.
Having knowledge of construction costs relating to their specific areas of design.
Preparing technical specifications.
Performing work under the agreed-upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
Undertaking technical coordination with authorities for approvals.
Solving problems encountered using knowledge, innovation and modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous works.
Contributing to the area of expertise, providing proposed improvements to existing processes and delivering solutions where precedent may not exist.
Performing technical quality reviews of design calculations, BIM models and drawings, including documentation in project record by adhering to occupational health and safety and corporate standards.
Developing construction cost estimates and estimates of technical effort/man-hours for projects.
Maintaining and developing the highest level of technical skills and abilities.
Supporting in building and maintaining Client (internal and external) relationships.
Attending client meetings as technical support to gather information and discuss project requirements, explain/defend work, etc.
Participating in the development and preparation of bids and proposals (as required) — the ability to present solutions to clients in a professional and technically competent manner.
Skills:
Solid experience in the design of civil infrastructural elements (earthworks/grading, roads, stormwater, sewer and water), particularly in a multi-disciplinary project delivery environment, across all project stages.
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Good working knowledge of ProjectWise and BIM360.
Experience in 12D Model, ACS, Microstation, Dynamo is advantageous.
Experience working in other (international) standard specifications and/or design guidelines will be advantageous.
Experience in the execution of multi-disciplinary projects through BIM will be advantageous.
Good communication skills (written and verbal).
Ability to work independently or within a team environment, as required.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science or Engineering.
8+ relevant experience post qualification.
