Senior Electronic Hardware Design Engineer needed - Cape Town - Aerospace & Defence Industry - LRU design, development and testing.
This individual will lead the design, development, and testing of LRUs. This role requires a strong technical background and experience in electronic circuit simulation (LTspice or other equivalent software) and design (Altium) - leading the LRU development process from preliminary design through to production.
Key functions:
• Design, simulate and complete PCB design and routing of Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) according to specifications provided by systems engineer.
• Follow the defined electronic hardware design processes and document design according to hardware design plan.
• Take part in peer reviews of LRUs.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and support.
• Collaborate with software, mechanical, DSP, RF and aeronautical teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware LRUs.
• Test and validate hardware designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations (experience with DO-160, & MIL-STD-704 will be highly beneficial).
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to hardware design and performance.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in electronic hardware technologies and apply them to projects.
Other requirements:
At least 10 Years experience in Electronic Hardware Design & Testing.
Engineering Degree in Electronics or equivalent (minimum NQF L7).
Specific experience with ECU /LRU /LLRU /LRC /LRI design & testing in the Aerospace & Defence industry will be highly beneficial.
Proficiency with Altium.
Proficiency with LTspice, or other circuit simulation/analysis software.
Drivers license and own vehicle.
Have a passion for leading edge technologies, and preferably for aerospace / aviation.
Preferably already reside in the Cape Town region, or be willing to relocate on own cost.
