Job title: Senior Domestic UnderwriterCompany: Full Circle ResourcingJob description: The main purpose of this position is to manage the entire underwriting policy process for clients including understanding the client's needs, identifying, proposing, effectively implementing the insurance solution, and managing the future needs of the client. Herewith also a list of the key responsibilities of this role:Key Responsibilities:Client advice & underwriting solutionsUnderstand client's insurance needsDetermine and propose appropriate insurance solutions by way of quote/s and detailed explanation of coverEnsure client understands terms of coverEnsure client complies with meeting obligations in terms of providing sufficient information to conclude the underwriting process effectivelyEnsure client provides supporting documentation where identified as necessary e.g. jewellery valuations, car registration certificates, etc.Policy management:Convert quotes to new business policiesEnsure policies endorsed as required by clientsUndertake policy renewal process annuallyEnsure policy cover maintains pace with client's needsClient information:Record all information received from or in respect of the client on the databaseRecord all communication with the client on the database detailing specifics to allow easy retrieval of information when required e.g. telephone call recordingsCompliance & legislation:Adhere to FICA requirementsAdhere to FAIS General Code of Conduct requirementsAdhere to FAIS Fit & Proper requirementsAdhere to outcomes as determined by TCF / Treating Customers FairlyBusiness continuity:Ensure business continuity maintained in the event of absenteeism and service levels remain at determined standardsAll information / data / tasks to be saved on the database for easy retrieval by team membersTasks to be recorded as diary items to ensure follow up dates maintainedClient focus:Maintain client service protocols as detailed in the Ranger Guide and company blueprint detailing company purpose and client service standards.Business sustainability:Ensure client service levels and advice continually meets or exceeds client's expectations to ensure client retentionReasons for policy cancellation requests to be thoroughly investigated and managed with the view to retaining the businessProfessional relationships:Cultivate long term, professional and respected relationships with clientsMaintain professional and strong relationships with our Service Providers to ensure that we can meet our service expectations from our clientsKeeping abreast:Keep abreast of macro and micro environments and how changes affect our clients and FPMEnsure up-to-date product knowledge at all timesEnsure up-to-date knowledge and thorough understanding of Underwriting Guidelines and Procedures of service providersFinancial discipline:Look after FPM office equipment and save on costs where possible e.g. stationaryEfficient office space:Follow open plan office protocolsKeep your desk neat and tidyThe right candidate for this role will be computer literate; have excellent interpersonal skills; good written and verbal communication skills; as well as the ability to resolve problems.
