We are currently looking for our: Senior Director, Tax Planning What we offer This leader is responsible for the accurate financial reporting and forecasting for all income tax matters. They manage reporting to the Head of Group Tax and manage any income tax financial statement audits. They oversee the tax technical modeling and analysis for possible transactions, corporate transfer pricing, tax accounting method optimization, dividend planning, tax protection agreements, and proposed law changes.
Scope Oversee all US income tax forecasting efforts including baseline QFR/5yr BPs and modeling overlays. Oversee the determination of the company's US tax provision including the financial statement audit over income taxes. Coordinate with the Tax Compliance team to ensure that the income tax returns are consistent with forecast/financial statement positions and implement strategies to minimize return to provision adjustments. Draft technical memoranda supporting key income tax reporting positions. Support the strategy and management of all material income tax audits including determination and measurement of reserves. Oversee strategic tax planning, including the modelling of the impact on all federal, state, REIT, tax reserve, debt, and partner tax covenants. Determine the impact of material proposed law changes on the company's income tax profile. Oversee all tax accounting method and credit projects to ensure accurate forecast and reporting of tax benefits. Oversee the determination dividends and withholding for all US REITs. Oversee all US transfer pricing exercises. Manage all tax protection agreements and tax indemnifications provided to or by the company. What we are looking for You can anticipate issues, work collaboratively with cross functional teams, and lead and/or participate in meetings to produce results. You can prioritize and manage resources efficiently including external advisors. You can manage up and present information in a timely and useful way. You can provide guidance to staff and contribute to their tax technical development. You are curious by nature and able to develop and implement innovative actions plans. You have strong problem-solving skills, and you are confident dealing with key internal and external stakeholders. You have excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills. You have 8-10+ years of experience in a Real Estate Tax environment. You have excellent tax technical skills and understand US GAAP and IFRS. You have an MBT and/or CPA (inactive is ok), with experience in a BIG 4 or large publicly traded environment. You have excellent interpersonal, oral/written communication skills, negotiation skills and concise grammatical skills. You have a strong work ethic with a positive, can-do attitude. You have a strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects as well as strong follow through skills. You can work well with others in a fast paced, team-oriented, and dynamic environment. Compensation Exempt: $182,000 – $240,000 + Discretionary Annual Bonus
