The main responsibility of this role is the development, management and maintenance of enterprise infrastructure. Ensuring industry standards are implemented with good governance in mind.
The reporting directly to the Head of IT Strategy and Architecture, this role works alongside the wider DevOps team to ensure resilience, performance and reliability across cloud enterprise platforms, services and applications
Duties and Responsibilities: Manage all cloud based infrastructure classified as enterprise infrastructureManage business intelligence infrastructureManage infrastructure of acquired systemsEnsure all infrastructure is built and maintained using enterprise standardsEnsure all infrastructure is managed with Infrastructure as Code or similarProactively enhance and refine monitoring and alerting systemsEnsure that all systems are highly-availableEnsure redundancy, failover and recovery of systemsEnsure regular backups and build automated backup recovery testingPerform Disaster Recovery testing and identify potential improvementsEnsure that Recovery Time Objectives are metEnsure systems are regularly patched and upgraded, with critical and security patches applied as soon as they are availableEnsure cost optimisation of infrastructure and identify ways to optimise performanceEnsure high-level design documentation and system diagrams are producedCollaborate and communicate effectivelyAttend and actively contribute in all relevant meetings in-line with agile methodologyKnowledge and skill share and with DevOps engineers in the teamTo manage own professional and self-developmentKey Requirements: Grade 12 or equivalent (Essential)Related tertiary qualification (Desirable)5+ years' experience in the DevOps and/or SysAdmin spaceSolid experience in Linux administration (Essential)Experience in scripting in at least one languageExperience working with VMs and ContainersExperience with building PCI / ISO27001 systems (Desirable)Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) – Terraform (Primary), CloudFormation (Secondary)Knowledge of backups, retention, and DR testingKnowledge of network management: DNS, routing, firewalls, load balancing, proxies and VPNsKnowledge of web servers, databases, messaging queuesKnowledge of managing CI/CD, monitoring and alerting applicationsKnowledge of database managementKnowledge of agile and TDD methodologyExperience in Banking and/or FinTech sector is favourableAdditional Skills: Analytical and problem solving skillsExcellent debugging and troubleshooting skillsAbility to work independentlyTeamworking and collaborationI am sure you are reading this job description and meet majority of the criteria BUT you may also still not be 100% comfortable in applying.
