Minimum requirements: Bachelor's degree in engineering (preferably Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent tertiary qualification. Minimum 5 ears experience within a similar role. Demonstrating proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and CATIA. Strong foundation in engineering principles. Previous exposure to vehicle design and functional requirements. Duties and responsibilities: Applying engineering expertise to the design and development of planned product features. Developing quality customised solutions from concept to production based on customer specifications and Program Department requests. Collaborating with suppliers, sub-contractors, and cross-functional teams to ensure that projects meet technical specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements. Integrating materials, methods, and tools necessary to bring new products to the company portfolio. Completing engineering projects on time and to a high-quality standard by organising and controlling project elements. Leading the design and development of innovative products and solutions as a Senior Design Engineer. Product Development: Designing and developing a product or product family in line with global standards. Coordinating all documentation and testing required for a product release. Coordinating prototype builds internally and externally. Developing innovative feature solutions within compressed timelines. Performing additional duties as assigned, such as material sourcing and selection. Assigning part numbers, managing part and feature approvals, and maintaining documentation related to the PLM system. Handling PPAP/PSW approval and submission for new projects from supplier to end customer. Project Planning: Determining project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; completing technical studies and preparing cost estimates. Confirming product performance by designing and conducting tests. Participating in regular project review meetings conducted both internally and externally. Contributing to supplier monitoring and selection processes. Controlling part and feature costs.
