A private equity firm based in Sandton, Johannesburg is seeking a Senior Deal Executive to participate in all aspects of deal-making, execution, and strategic planning related to deal sourcing.
As a Senior Deal Executive, you will play a pivotal role in transactions, overseeing the entire process from identification and negotiation to closing, monitoring investments, and exiting. You will provide strategic guidance and value-adding initiatives to portfolio organisations while implementing corporate governance disciplines. This role involves substantial leadership responsibilities, representing the firm and its clients on boards, and developing both internal and external resources.
As the Senior Deal Executive, you will be responsible for assisting in the development and mentoring of team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Actively participate in the governance of the firm, contributing to its strategic direction and growth. Leverage your extensive network to source and negotiate high-value transactions, driving the firm's investment strategy.
Key Qualifications for the Senior Deal Executive:CA(SA) or CFA10+ years of experience in corporate finance, investment management, merchant banking, or private equityFamiliarity with identifying, negotiating, closing, and monitoring transactionsStrong knowledge of key investment sectors and commercial statutes (Tax, Companies Act).Key Duties for the Senior Deal Executive include but are not limited to:Successfully close high-value transactions that align with the firm's investment strategyOversee deal-making processes from identification to exitProvide strategic direction and value-adding initiatives to investee organisationsDemonstrating continuous improvement in the performance of portfolio organisationsRepresent the firm and its clients on portfolio organisation boardsBuilding and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and team membersKey Personal Skills for the successful Senior Deal Executive:Strong leadership and management capabilitiesHigh performer with self-awarenessAbility to build and maintain a substantial contact and network baseHigh level of commercial awareness and regulatory knowledgeIf you are passionate about strategic investments and have strong experience in corporate finance or private equity, please reach out for a further conversation to learn more.
