You will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining database systems while collaborating with development and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
Responsibilities will include (but is not limited to): Database Management: Design, install, configure, and maintain Azure SQL databases and other database services.Performance Monitoring: Monitor database performance and optimize query execution, indexing, and storage configurations to ensure optimal operation.Security Management: Implement and maintain security measures to safeguard data against unauthorized access and breaches.Backup and Recovery: Develop and manage backup and recovery strategies, ensuring data integrity and availability.Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve database-related issues and performance bottlenecks efficiently.Collaboration: Work closely with application developers, data analysts, and system architects to support data needs and promote best practices.Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and changes.Upgrades and Migrations: Plan and execute database upgrades and migrations with minimal downtime and impact on users.Automation: Develop and implement automation scripts for routine database maintenance tasks. THE COMPETENCIES WE'RE AFTER Clear and concise communication and documentation skillsProcess orientated with experience in AgileTeam-player with a desire to collaborateCritical thinking skillsFocused on high quality outputSelf-starter THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE'RE LOOKING FOR Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field6+ years experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar roleExperience in Azure cloud environment preferredProficiency in T-SQL and database scripting.Relational DB experience, preferably MSSQL & PostgresKnowledge of database security practices and compliance requirements.Familiarity with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
