The purpose of the ETL Developer is to develop extraction, translation and loading jobs which will populate the Data Warehouse, develop and enhance the back end of the data warehouse to satisfy specified and agreed user requirements in conformance with standards, time and cost parameters agreed for each project/request.Responsibilities:Design, code, de-bug and correct programs to ensure business requirements are metAnalyse the effect of new functions on the existing systemCompile test cases according to System Development Lifecycle methodologyImplement practical solutions that use the specialist and departmental systems and processesProvide specialist input and recommendations to improve the efficiency, compliance and quality objectivesIdentify problems and develop and propose solutions to present to appropriate leaderEnsure day to day operational supportMaintain a high level of impact on other departments to support improved deliveryMaintain, develop and implement specialist knowledge within the day-to-day operations of the organizationMaintain expertise levelEnsure CPD (continual professional development)Engage with and provide support to the established network of internal and external expert resources and partnersProvide Specialist expertise and ensure best practice related to specialization is implemented in projects, when requiredQualifications and Experience:3-4 Years Diploma/Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or data related qualifications5-10 years experience in programming, understanding of database design and system analysisMinimum of 5-10 years Data Warehousing experience.SQL/PLSQL knowledge essential.Data Modelling Tool Experience preferred.Basic UNIX scriptingDesign, development and implementation of ETL pipelines.Cloud-based data storage solutions like AWS and Azure.Technical ETL expertise in creating star schema data modelsThe Reference Number for this position is NG59461 which is a 12-month fixed-term Contract position based in Johannesburg offering a salary of R800k up to R1mil per annum, salary negotiable based on experience.
