In this role, you will play a crucial part in transforming raw data into actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making across the business.
You will be responsible for building and maintaining a robust data infrastructure, developing insightful reports, and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) for various projects.
Reporting line: Head of Business Development Location: South Africa Worksite: remote Responsibilities Data Warehousing and ETL: Design, develop, and maintain a centralized data lake by extracting, transforming, and loading data from various sources, including transactional databases, CRM systems, market data feeds, and third-party APIs.
Data Analysis and Reporting: Conduct in-depth analysis of financial data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
Create regular and ad-hoc reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders at all levels, including C-level executives.
Performance Tracking: Develop and implement metrics to track the performance of specific projects and initiatives.
Monitor KPIs, identify areas for improvement, and provide data-driven recommendations to optimize outcomes.
Automated Reporting: Design and implement automated reporting systems to provide timely and accurate updates to C-level executives and other key stakeholders.
Data Governance: Contribute to the development and implementation of data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality, integrity, and security.
Collaboration: Work closely with various teams, including trade desk, operations, and technology, to understand their data needs and provide analytical support.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
5+ years of experience as a Data Analyst in the financial services industry, preferably with a brokerage firm.
Good understanding of financial instruments and asset classes Knowledge of financial markets, instruments, and trading principles.
Proficiency in SQL and data manipulation techniques.
Experience with the following tools and programs: Data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) Data warehousing technologies (e.g., Snowflake, AWS Redshift) AI and its applications in finance Python or R for data analysis Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
