Senior Customs Export Controller (Hammersdale)

Purpose: Booking of orders for export with various shipping lines & ensuring that all waiver notes & customs entries are processed on time. Customs clearing import ships. Managing of rebate materials and ability to do correct submissions to SARS. Responsibilities will include liaising with shipping lines, SARS, Waiver agencies, internal teams such as production, warehouse, procurement, and finance. Requirements: Matric Certification in Customs Clearing & Forwarding Logistics Diploma will be an advantage Intermediate Excel 5 10 years in Operations through Export activities for Medium / Large business. Good mathematical and analytical skill sets Solid Clearing and Forwarding Exports experience required. Sound knowledge of shipping documents & procedures required Duties include: Registration of shipments in ACS, Ship Shape, or Cargowise EDI system Frame & EDI Bills of Entries (Import / Export - Sea freight, Airfreight, Road freight & Rail) to SARS within the prescribed period according to the SARS Act - NON NEGOTIABLE Must have working knowledge of how to process rebate entries for 470.03 Must have knowledge of Customs & Excise Act Must have working knowledge/ experience with obtaining ITAC permits and any other Imports or Expert permits Submission of Cargo Dues Fluent in Tariff Heading Determination Processing of VOC's, Customs Refunds & Acquittals Check accuracy of source documents Expected to sort and verify the accuracy of data before it is entered, as well as locate and correct data entry errors Processing of Certificate of Origins, EUR1, SADC and GSP certificates Knowledge of Break Bulk & Bulk Shipments Arrange Port Health, Plant Inspector, State Vet and NRCS Releases Handle all Customs, SAPS and Borders police Stops until it is Released Submission of relevant documents to the Shipping Lines for final release and Navis update Knowledge of Import / Export Control Act - Prohibited & Restricted goods Application of Import / Export Permits to the relevant departments Keeping track of all shipping costs incurred per shipment Staying abreast of Industry changes And any other duties/tasks relevant to the position as delegated by Management
