Managing and arranging the movement of containers from the port to DSV warehouse and to clients' DC – based on client requirements. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Receiving shipment details from clients, register on VFT and distribute documentation to relevant Air & Sea controller Update vessel details for all shipments on a daily basis Follow up on process of shipments with Air & Sea Update clients Receipt of Air & Sea VAT invoices for verification and submission to clients for payment Updating VFT with all documentation relevant to shipments Updating CW1 with all supporting documentation where required Liaising with Air & Sea to obtain landed cost invoices with supporting documentation Verify rates against rate structure Create ASN for every shipment to facilitate inventory management Produce DSV Road invoice and landed cost (as per client requirements) Monitor update of daily stock sheets to VFT Ensure all supporting documentation loaded per shipment Monitor the arrival of shipments Provide transporter with LTA for X-haul of containers to warehouse Monitor empty turn-ins Monitor the delivery of containers to the warehouse with the transporter Assist with all functions relating to client and DSV Road Cape Town branch Liaise with Air & Sea and carriers for the movement of containers from the port to DSV and/or client facility and empty turn-in Provide clients with solutions to streamline the Supply Chain Provide quotations as and when required QUALIFICATIONS Completed Matric / Grade 12 Supply Chain / Logistics / Administration diploma / certificate an added advantage COMPUTER SKILLS Intermediate Excel skills CargoWise – Essential/Basic VFT – Advantage Warehouse Management System – Advantage Sound Information technology with ability to quickly learn new systems EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE At least 4 years' experience in Freight Forwarding, Customs Brokerage (both Air and Sea freight) Tracking and Tracing systems working experience, escalations of incidents or out-of-time windows Experience in Planning of loads Ability to work in cross-functional teams Be able to work overtime Excellent telephone etiquette Excellent administration skills required Ability to think pro-actively and under extreme pressure Ability to ensure attention to detail / accuracy Ability to manage multiple shipments at the same time Strong relationship building skills Commercial & financial: Sound financial acumen and experience in adherence to applying rate structure to shipments Communication & conflict management skills to successfully deal with all levels, age groups and cultures of people – both internal and external (at least 1 year), exceptional communication skills – both speaking and writing Supporting and Co-operating including working well with people and adhering to principles and values Organising and Executing which includes planning, organising, delivering results & adhering to processes & procedures adhering to principles and values Client specific experience (Refractory materials), be able to manage process between client and all other divisions Ability to work under pressure Team player
