Title and SummarySenior Counsel OverviewResponsible for providing legal advice to assigned business units and/or markets providing comprehensive, end-to-end legal support by facilitating thoughtful risk-taking to enable MasterCard to deliver on strategy.ResponsibilitiesActs as the principal day-to-day advisor for clients, including partnering with the business and legal specialists to implement applicable laws and regulations that facilitate commercial operations and activities.Autonomously structures, drafts, reviews and negotiates sophisticated legal agreements related to business operations and activities, including identifying risk, recommending modifications and approvals of legal agreements.Communicates changes in laws and regulations; trains clients on risks, legal consequences, and alternative actions, as needed.Partners with legal specialists and outside counsels to coordinate research, investigate legal issues, and ensure compliance with regulations.Trains and educates clients on risks, legal consequences, and alternative actions, as needed.Coaches and mentors others while serving as a technical expert, often leading cross-functional strategic initiatives and sharing legal knowledge for a business and/or market.ExperiencesExperience managing and resolving investigations of high-risk business issues.Successfully represented Mastercard at external industry events, sharing best practices, etc., to enhance the organization's brand.Corporate Security ResponsibilityAll activities involving access to Mastercard assets, information, and networks come with an inherent risk to the organization and, therefore, it is expected that every person working for, or on behalf of, Mastercard is responsible for information security and must:
