Job Purpose
One of our renowned clients in the Shipbuilding industry based in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is seeking to recruit a Project Cost Control Engineer. This role is responsible for managing, monitoring, and analyzing the costs related to various projects, with the objective of ensuring that project budgets are maintained, financial risks are minimized, and cost-efficiency is maximized. Key duties include developing cost estimates and budgets, implementing cost control processes, analyzing financial data, forecasting costs, providing input on project financial decisions, and reporting on financial performance to management and stakeholders. Successful candidates possess strong analytical and communication skills, and have extensive experience in project management and financial analysis.
Key Accountabilities & Working Relationships Key Accountabilities:
The Senior Cost Engineer who will be responsible for but not limited to:
Monitor ongoing projects expenditure and forecasted budget versus the set baseline. Adhere to the segment financial, business and project processes. Address issues pertaining to project cost control procedures. Participate in the development of estimates and studies within project phases. Coordinate and develop appropriate control budgets consistent with project estimate and WBS/CBS. Implement and monitor costs within each project stage and for entire project until completion or close-out. Prepare all related reports and dashboards. Develop cost control procedures, project cost control strategy, plans and procedures and shall be able to collate all the essential information to plan the cost estimates for various corporate processes. Coordinate development and implementation of project work breakdown structure (WBS) / cost breakdown structure (CBS) in concert with Project Control Specialist and Project Planning/Scheduling Engineer. Collect and compile progress and cost data and develop cost-control worksheets and reports. Review financial data related to accruals, invoice payments, purchase orders, and material deliveries and other financial data. Shall be able to ensure that the operating costs for various tasks being handled in the organization remain within the set budget. Shall be able to understand clients' budget and plan the project cost control accordingly. Monitor, manage and control expenditure involved in carrying out various tasks during project execution. Prepare reports on the expenditure made and present the same to the management. Process invoices and ensure cost compliance. Monitor ongoing project expenditures and forecast budgets and set baselines. Prepare all related reports with recommended actions for management review. Working Relationships: Internal Interactions:

Who we are looking for Education:
• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
• Masters/MBA will be advantageous
Experience:
• 9-15 years as a lead cost engineer. Maritime industry experience is a plus.
Professional Qualifications (Certifications & Accreditations):
• Project Management Professional or equivalent
• Workable knowledge in the use of PRIMAVERA (P6) planning package and conversant with Microsoft Project use is highly advantageous.
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
• Excellent command of MS office (MSP, Excel, PowerPoint, Word etc.)
• Decision making & team working, and ability to work under pressure.
• Solid financial knowledge and business sense (i.e., project payment terms, etc.).
Languages:
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Arabic is advantageous.
