Our client in the Textile or Apparel Manufacturing Industry is seeking a skilled, experienced, and qualified Senior Cost Accountant to join their Finance Team. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Financial Accountant and relevant stakeholders to assess business expenses and optimize budgets. You will provide financial and accounting support to executives and department heads to help establish goals and budgets for the organization.Responsibilities:Collect and analyze data about the company's operational costs.Set standard costs of manufactured goods.Develop and analyze cost standards.Conduct cost-volume-profit (CVP) analysis.Establish costs of business processes such as administration, labor, shipping, etc.Perform account reconciliations.Prepare audit reports and present findings to management.Recommend changes to company processes and policies to reduce costs and maximize profit.Advise executives and upper management on appropriate costing based on financial data.Manage the company's balance sheet and accounting books.Support other company accountants with invoicing and capital expenditure.Use financial software to identify inconsistencies and irregularities in operational costs and model the impact of possible budget changes on the company's financial health.Improve and drive financial efficiency.Provide data-driven advice to company leadership for better decision-making.Production Cost Analysis:Analyze production costs, including raw materials, overhead expenses, and operational expenditures.Identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.Collaborate with relevant departments to control and reduce costs where possible.Perform account reconciliations.Gross Margin Reporting:Manage the company's balance sheet and accounting books.Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly gross margin reports by product, customer, and various business units for each company in the group.Review cost allocation assumptions and rates.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or cost management.Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is advantageous.5-10 years of proven experience as a Cost Accountant.Knowledge and understanding of the Apparel or Textile manufacturing industry and its suppliers and vendors is advantageous.Advanced knowledge of mathematics and statistics.Understanding of organizational accounting concepts.Strong financial analysis skills.Ability to prepare financial reports and give recommendations based on available data.Superior knowledge of financial reporting software tools and ERP software.Ability to perform risk and security assessments.In-depth knowledge of financial guidelines and regulations.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Excellent attention to detail.Effective communication skills, including writing, speaking, and active listening.Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.Benefits:Market-related salary, negotiable depending on experience.Convenient location in Cape Town.How to Apply:
