What does a Senior Copywriter do? They create engaging and persuasive content that effectively communicates the brand's message to a target audience and drives action through digital content, social media and other mediums.



Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or Advertising.
4+ years copywriting experience (preferably for an agency or retailer).
Understanding of marketing and advertising, the ability to develop creative and strategic concepts, excel in project management and team collaboration while staying updated on industry trends.

Responsibilities:

Receive, discuss, and understand briefs including requirements, core messages, and objectives.
Develop new concepts and transform these ideas into copy for various marketing mediums.
Determine target audience appeal by understanding current trends for each creative brief.
Write copy for small to large-scale projects as well as manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proofread all work (checking spelling and grammar) to produce an accurate and high-quality output.
Present copy to the creative head of copy for review before presenting it to the brand team with confidence.
Respond to feedback promptly and revise, re-work, and edit content as needed.
Review all copywriters' work before presenting it to the creative head of copy.
Timeous execution of work against scheduled deadlines.
Research overall target audience language and style which captures current trends to determine relevant references that pertain to each brief.
Participate in creative brainstorming sessions and explore visual and copy ideas with the creative team.
Attend kickstarts to understand brief specifics, timings, and deadlines.
Work collaboratively with the creative, production, and brand team on relevant projects.
Receive guidance and direction from the creative head of copy on brand and sub-brand characteristics.
Ensure that all copy maintains a consistent brand voice and tone across all touchpoints.
Gain insights from the brand team for creative briefs.
Work closely with the creative head of copy as a support to ensure that copy aligns with business objectives.
Work proactively and collaboratively with a multi-disciplined team and provide support to the copywriting team and freelancers.
Participate proactively in all kickstarts/ briefing meetings.
Manage and drive the team by setting clear and transparent expectations, to exhibit the culture and values of the business and achieve / exceed KPIs.
Identify and drive training needs, coaching and development with a key focus on talent management, performance management and succession planning.
Create a team culture that is responsive and professional when meeting deadlines and providing a business focused service to internal/external customers.
