Job Description Main Purpose of Job Under minimum supervision, to support line manager in delivery of services to internal clients in relevant area of expertise.Key Competencies Required Strategic Impact Supports leadership in the delivery of services to clients in line with the defined strategic objectives: ? Provides support to management in the implementation of change initiatives ? Works with team to complete work by set deadlines advising manager of any issues prior to deadlines Develops relationships with peer group at client to understand their business Raises effective solutions to address issues in area of expertise that may enhance / renew service offerings to client Budgets / Profitability Effective use of time, equipment and resources Differentiators for this specific role Project / Programme Management Plan, develop and draft an annual plan of events aligned to strategic objectives across industries for Deloitte Africa Finalise annual plan of events across industries for Deloitte Africa Develop events budget for Deloitte Africa Conduct research on competitor activities through networking, perusing industry publications and articles and desktop research Request for budget approval for each event from the Managing director of Emerging Markets and Africa Review all planning by team members for each of their allocated events Develop a project plan that covers logistics, marketing, PR and Programme Management for each event Implement all planned events by ensuring team members adhere to project plan Managing marketing of events by reviewing marketing coordinators output as per agreed project plan Proof-reading all thought-leadership related to strategic events produced by research team Compile draft programmes for each event including suggested themes and speakers Discussing and finalising overall event theme and sub-themes with Managing Director for Africa and Emerging Markets, for each event Researching, discussing and finalising suitable speakers with the Managing Director for Africa and Emerging Markets for the agreed upon sub-themes for each event Compiling the speaker invites on word for all speakers in each event Contacting potential speakers ten weeks before the event and positioning the event with speakers to encourage them to participate Developing and finalising key questions for each session addressing a sub-theme of each event with the Managing Director for Africa and Emerging Markets five weeks before the event Send the speaker brief with key questions and relevant logistical information to each confirmed speaker three weeks before the event Phone each speaker three days prior to the event to confirm that the event is on track and then again repeat the call on the morning of the event.Be available for speaker requests on the day of the event and on an ad-hoc basis before and after the event Compile and send speaker thank you notes either via e-mail or in word the day after the event.Track media coverage through Magna Carta media reports and the internet and send relevant links/articles to speakers Client Marketing / Liaison Developing a Marketing Plan in conjunction with the marketing manager for each event that will target the correct audience to ensure a successful event Ensuring that the marketing plan is implemented according to timelines Copy-writing and proof-reading all marketing collateral produced by marketing managers Reviewing and finalizing marketing collateral produced by marketing managers throughout the firm Reviewing and finalising target markets with marketing manager and compiling relevant lists of invitees for each event Ensuring the correct invitees receive invitations timeously from the marketing manager for each event  Reviewing RSVPs and implementing additional marketing initiatives to meet targeted delegate numbers, if necessary Managing PR through a media manager to ensure sufficient media attendance and subsequent coverage from applicable media for each event Liaising with both client speakers and delegates before, during and after events through face-to-face meetings, telephone calls and e-mails to ensure their engagement with the event and Deloitte is a positive experience Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Diploma or Degree Desired Qualifications Postgraduate qualification (relevant to Service Area / Business Management, etc.)Minimum Experience 5 years' working experience within the relevant function Desired Experience 2 years at Consultant level within the function Additional Information
