Requirements: Diploma or degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Trade, or a related field.Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in customs clearing or freight forwarding.Strong understanding of international trade regulations and customs procedures.Proficiency in customs clearance software and systems.Customs Clearance Certificate: A formal qualification in customs clearance can be advantageous, as it demonstrates a solid understanding of customs procedures and regulations.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.Knowledge of import/export documentation and procedures.Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Responsibilities: Documentation: Prepare and submit accurate customs declarations, including Bills of Entry, Import Declarations, and Export Declarations.Verify and validate all required shipping documents, such as Bills of Lading, Packing Lists, and Commercial Invoices.
Ensure compliance with all import and export regulations, including tariff classifications, labeling requirements, and safety standardsCustoms ClearanceLiaise with customs authorities to facilitate the smooth clearance of goods.Respond to customs inquiries and provide necessary documentation.Calculate and pay import duties, taxes, and other fees.Handle customs examinations, inspections, and audits.
Logistics CoordinationCoordinate with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and other logistics providers to ensure timely delivery of goods.Track shipments and provide updates to clients/businessArrange for the transportation of goods from the port to the final destination.ReportingProvide weekly and monthly clearance status reports to management.Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to customs clearance.
