WHAT WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLEHave a full understanding of all Marine Products to safely navigate and handle all types of marine claimsHave a good market repertoire with Brokers, Surveyors and External Service ProvidersConfirm / Check premium paid/outstanding with credit control.Good understanding of claim documents and policy contractual agreementsHave a full understanding of the Inco Terms and Institute Cargo ClausesReport Risk Management Trends to Marine Claims Manager, Relationship Managers and UnderwritersLiaise with Reinsurers (International and Local)Ensure a 3rd party recovery is followed through if recovery prospectsDiary follow-ups for recoveriesWork within a paperless environment and ensuring Filing/Archiving is doneGeneral Ad hoc assistance and support to the claims teamTechnology support: Ensure that there are improved qualities of data capture point/recorded data sources as this will enhance reporting when files are reviewed. It can also assist in minimising "paper trail" and minimise costs for rental of external archiving and paper.Mentoring and developing young members who have an interest in marineFinancials – sign off mandated payments (local and forex)Client checks within the parameters of POPI, that is Sanction and Bridger Checks.Liaise with brokers, administrators, Underwriting and other relevant parties to the claims process, building a strong and effective professional relationship.Service: Providing excellent professional service to all relevant parties, both Internal and External.Audits – Assist with submission of files for Audits that is to ensure a seamless audit process.Report all claims above R1m to Management and R2m to Special Liability UnitQUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCEMatric/ Grade 125 years + claims experience in marine insurance environmentOverview understanding of the claims processKNOWLEDGE AND SKILLSGood written and verbal communication skills.Technical and Analytical SkillsWritten and Verbal communication skills (English)Development of critical skills and capabilitiesExcellent accounting and reconciliation skills for claim adjustmentsPERSONAL ATTRIBUTESAdaptable and responsive to changeClient orientedDecisive and initiates' actionOrganized, structured and effective plannerAnalytical SkillsLiving the valuesAbility to work under pressureEmpathy and Conflict Handling SkillsPlanning and OrganizingWriting and ReportingFollowing Instructions and ProceduresWorking with PeopleTeam PlayerService Orientation
