Senior Civil EngineerMarket-related PackageCape Town, South AfricaRole PurposeThe Senior Civil Engineer will provide support for the full suite of civil activities for renewable energy projects, with an emphasis on the pre-construction context.
The role encompasses delivery of technical analyses and designs, as well as support for the engineering department in coordination of work packages and review and quality control within the team.
Additionally, they will be expected to contribute to company strategy regarding project pipeline and development and provide training and mentoring to the team members.Main ResponsibilitiesProject developmentRoad, platform and infrastructure designs and optimisation for PV wind and BESS projectsSupporting the development team with various tasks relating to environmental approvals regarding civil infrastructureConducting and reporting on site visits as requiredConducting technical due diligence examinations on prospective project acquisitions and external technical reportsReview and quality control of deliverables from junior engineersAnd other transversal tasks including writing of technical methods and proceduresDesign ReviewCBoP scoping and tender supportReview and challenging of civil designs from contractorsConduct or oversee feasibility studies and preliminary cost estimates for civil works during the development phaseCivil & structural risk analysesSupport on civil & foundation design and reviewsContract managementBid preparationsConstruction supportTransverse teamHealth and Safety ComplianceQualification and ExperienceMSc Engineering or EquivalentPr Eng is advantageous5 years renewable energy experience8 years professional experience
