Closely collaborates with the HoD and Executive Directors: Civil Engineering in directing, co-ordinating, initiating, planning, executing, monitoring & control, integration, and closing of the Civil Engineering Projects. Drives general Civil Engineering related design and deliverablesKEY RESPONSIBILITIESLead, manage and guide Engineers, technicians, draughts persons and delegate work effectively in the Civil Engineering Department.Ensure that all employees in the team are supplied with the relevant tools required to perform jobsFormulate systems for smooth running of the Civil Engineering section to enable synergy and coherenceDesign, Reporting in Civil Engineering section to meet projects objectives.Preparation of proposals, tender and contract documents for the infrastructure services nationally and internationally.Construction monitoring and implementation of site construction work as and when required on a part time basis on at least the following aspects:Ensuring compliance with design/specifications and standards.Ensuring compliance with programme and all knowledge areas.Preparing reports.Do any ad-hoc office duties as assigned by the HoD: Civil EngineeringGuide and train in design and other necessary skills to engineers and technicians to ensure continuous professional developmentKeep abreast with technology development and research in the field of water and wastewater engineeringCoordinate and supervise the production of technical drawings design and reporting inputs by supporting staffClient liaison including meetings and reportingCompliance with the companys Quality Management System ISO9001 requirementsAssisting with the preparation of requests for proposals expressions of interest panel applications and tendersManagement of projects and monitoring of performance and profitabilityQUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE / MINIMUM REQUIRMENTSMust be professionally registered or registrable with ECSA as PrEng, and SAICE Good experience in bulk water and wastewater municipal infrastructure, storm water systems, earthworks, basic road and drainage systems.
