Experience in different software control languages and some in firmware applications is also required. The ideal candidate will also have experience in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Experience in system architecture design will be a major benefit.JOB REQUIREMENTSRequired Learning:Grade 12 - MandatoryBSc or BEng in Electrical/Electronic/Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent.A certification or qualification in project management will be beneficial.Skills and Experience:A minimum of 5 years' experience in industry Engineering Development in Control & Instrumentation or Mechatronics & Software Applications.Experience in PLC and UI/SCADA Design & Development.C++ is essential with the ability to code in the language.Hands-on experience in engineering development having been responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of two or more projects/products.Experience (minimum 2 years) in system architecture design.Experience in Software and Hardware integration and testing.Experience in Software & Firmware development and the integration of it into hardware.Experience in adhering to a QMS.Experience in source control systems (e.g., Git) and code reviews.Experience in software documentation, as part of SDLC.Experience in managing a team of developers.Experience in project management.Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC).Experience in documentation (specifications and quality management system).Familiarity with unit testing, performance analyses, loading of resources, and end-to-end integration tests.Advantageous Experience or Knowledge in:Advanced computer literacy including MS Project.Experience in DevOps.Experience in Medical Devices certification would be an extra benefit.Industry experience in programming and high-level language of C++, C, C#, Visual Studio will be a significant benefit.Experience in micro-controller development will be beneficial.Key Performance Areas:Design & Develop Control/Software/HW Applications (can include hardware and/or firmware in some cases).Analyse needs and generate specifications and plan.Design and implement control, software (coding) & hardware applications.Test, review and deliver design.All done following QMS.Design & Develop Control/Software/HW System Architectures.Analyse needs and present system architecture.Generate required development documentation.Design system architecture.Test and deliver the system.All done following QMS.Control, software and hardware maintenance and supportMaintain existing control & software by updating and/or fixing bugs and document according to process.Update data pack and/or software release version.Support production & service personnel as required including training.Compliance & Regulatory related.Ensure appropriate version control.Know and adhere to processes required to maintain Medical Device Certification.Create new processes if/when required.Provide inputs to technical documentation where required.Kind RegardsHR
