The expertise you'll bring Qualification in a purchasing discipline preferred. A minimum of 5 years' proven experience in purchasing, expediting, transport and logistics disciplines, in mining, minerals, engineering, or construction industries. Projects experience with demonstrable procurement, purchasing, expediting, cost control, and transport and logistics knowledge. South African Citizen or Permanent Resident. Cape Town based. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. High degree of professional ethics. A sound knowledge of international and local purchasing practices. A sound knowledge of international and local tendering and contract laws regulations and practices. A sound knowledge of international freight laws, regulations and practices together with domestic transporting practices and regulations. Demonstrated experience with computerised purchasing and logistics systems, and their operation and applications. Demonstrated ability and experience with Microsoft Office. Strong negotiating skills. Solid technical aptitude, analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail, organisational and time management skills, with the ability to own and prioritise Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision whilst consistently producing a high quality of deliverables, within budget and schedule constraints.
