Senior Business DeveloperWe are supporting our client in the Renewable Energy sector who is currently seeking a Senior Business Developer to be based in Johannesburg, Gauteng. This role will report to the Regional Head of Business Development, and the responsibilities will include:Possessing a detailed understanding of legislation pertaining to energy investments on the market and monitoring developments.Having a strong understanding of the competitive environment and performing analyses enabling the development of the organisation's business strategy.Developing a partner acquisition strategy.Identifying, analysing, negotiating for, and securing business opportunities meeting the organisation's investment guidelines, including developments, acquisitions, participation in competitive processes (private and public), and commercial origination on a bilateral basis with large energy off-takers, subject to budget and time constraints.Preparing all documentation and attending meetings necessary for investment approval, whether internal or external.Contributing to various planning and budgeting processes.Maintaining and developing company culture, values, and reputation in the market with all staff, customers, suppliers, partners, and regulatory/official bodies.You will need:A deep knowledge of renewable energy business, energy markets (including regulation), and related technologies.Investment valuation principles.Corporate finance.Strong understanding of the renewable energy environment.Knowledge of Power Purchase Agreements (PPA).Experience in Business Development, investment analysis, or commercial positions.International experience will be advantageous.Fluent in English (oral and written).Willingness to travel frequently within this position to various countries.
