Senior Broker - Construction & Engineering

Aon South Africa is recruiting a Senior Broker in our Specialty department, based on a hybrid basis from our Head Office in Sandton.
The role of the Senior Broker is to build and improve day to day client/ colleague relationships, manage portfolios of client accounts (where applicable) and provide technical expertise to service clients/ colleagues.
What the day will look like
Acts as the primary point of contact within the broking team for specific clients in order to provide specialist advice to the clients and colleagues (country-wide)
Provides advice to clients and colleagues on:
placement design,
available coverage and capacity,
pricing,
potential coverage enhancements, and
market progress within scope of responsibility
Negotiates terms and conditions of placement
Works in partnership with clients (where applicable) and colleagues to ensure clients' needs and expectations are met
Skills and experience that will lead to success
Qualifications:
A minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent
A Bachelor's degree is preferable
Must be registered as a representative with the FSCA in terms of the FAIS Act
Must be registered as an associate with the IISA
Knowledge:
Excellent knowledge of policy wordings
Comprehensive knowledge of the South African and international short-term insurance markets.
Strategic knowledge of industry and business strategies and company goals.
Computer literacy with advanced knowledge in MS Word and Excel.
Skills and Attributes:
Ability to communicate optimally
Good interpersonal and organizational skills
Ability to work effectively in and with teams.
Experience:
Proven experience in a C&E broking environment
Have extensive experience in Insurance
