Senior Bookkeeper / Accountant

Our client specializes in providing comprehensive accounting and financial services to businesses across various industries. Their offerings include efficient bookkeeping, meticulous financial reporting, tax compliance assistance, financial management support, and expert consulting tailored to meet each client's unique needs. Our client seeks a professional yet friendly and relational accountant to join their team. Interpersonal skills are a must as they will be required to meet with clients directly. Responsibilities: As a Bookkeeper / Accountant, your primary responsibility will be the creation of monthly transactions and monthly / annual financial reports. This includes: Processing source documents supplied or downloaded electronically. Reviewing backups supplied and liaising with clients to ensure timely receipt of source documents. Recording all bank transactions, including petty cash where applicable. Reconciling bank accounts and Intercompany Loan accounts where necessary. Raising monthly accruals and processing Inventory Adjustments. Identifying and raising fixed assets, as well as disposing of them when necessary. Maintaining and reconciling the fixed asset register, including passing of depreciation. Reviewing debtors and creditors ageing for irregularities and querying when necessary. Verifying ISA payments and allocating correctly, raising interest provisions. Preparing Monthly Management Accounts and VAT reports for submission. Daily updating of WIP schedule on the system to ensure deadlines are met. Attending to individual clients requests where on-premises work is required. Education and Experience: Preferred SAICA/ SAIPA accredited accounting bachelors degree with completion of Articles. Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role. Excellent working knowledge of Xero, Pastel, and CaseWare Accounting software. Working knowledge of SARS Efiling and CIPC. Personal Skills: Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Proactive and self-managed with a strong sense of ownership. Excellent team player with good communication skills, both written and verbal. Self-confident and inspires confidence in others. Hours: 08H00 - 16H30, Monday to Friday Office Based Leave: 20 Days per annum including Annual shutdown Salary: R20 000 - R25 000 (Negotiable based on experience) Please note only shortlisted candidates will be contacted
