Senior Bookkeeper/Accountant/Assistant Financial Manager

ResponsibilitiesFull accounting function ability to take over/assist where necessary – not limited to: Suppliers, customers, banking (cheque, credit cards, petty cash), fixed asset register, insurance, payrollSetting up, improving, maintaining effective financial controls and statutory complianceSet up and preparation - monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accountsAssist with statutory submissions e.g., DOL, CIPC, SARSContribution to the daily functioning of the finance team and its performanceAssisting the financial executive with ad-hoc assignmentsIdentify areas to streamline current processes to improve efficiency and implementation thereofRequirementsAccounting degree or equivalent with minimum five years' relevant experienceConfident and independent individual who is a fast learnerTeam playerAbility to use own initiative and work with minimum supervisionAble to work flexible working hours (overtime when/if needed)Able to work under pressure in order to meet strict deadlinesA strong entrepreneurial abilityAn ability to think logicallyBe accurate in the execution of dutiesBe highly computer literate – Accounting packages, MicrosoftStrong attention to detail and organisational skillsBe committed to continuous learning and staying updated (e.g. industry, statutory requirements)
