Senior Behavioral Scientist: Banking: 6 Months FTCSenior Behavioural Scientist: Banking: 6 Months FTC This invitation is for an experienced Senior Behavioral Scientist to join the team and support the Behavioral Economics (BE) unit within Retail and Business Banking to apply behavioural science to the design and execution of better money management solutions for clients across the bank.
You will be responsible for: Work with business units to define target behavioursScope advisory projects and develop workplansConduct literature reviews to contextualize target behaviours and proposed behavioural interventionsGuide data exploration to contextualize and quantify target behavioursUndertake qualitative research to effectively diagnose the context and psychological barriers to target behaviourEffectively package and communicate the findings of primary and secondary research to business unitsDesign and propose behavioural interventionsSupport business units to test behavioural interventions (RCTs or A/B tests)Provide training to business units on behavioural insights relevant to their business unitsSupport the effective knowledge management and curation of behavioural science research through brown bag sessionsEstablish relationships with clients through constant engagementAssist in positioning the BE Unit as a valued business partner through proactive engagement and networking with internal and external stakeholdersMonitor performance by aligning own contribution to delivery of departmental plan against expected outcomesShare knowledge and industry trends with team and stakeholders during formal and informal interactionsResolve work obstacles by managing on a case-by-case basis and early escalation where requiredYour Education should include: Grade 12 / Matric / National Senior CertificateHonours Degree in economics, psychology, or social sciencesMore than 5 years' experience consulting in financial services or working in a financial institutionDemonstrated experience applying behavioural science within large corporatesAbility to produce quality work under pressurized circumstancesWhat type of exposure are we looking for: Conducting root cause analysis using a behavioural lensDeveloping business plansChallenging the status quo with a view to improving the environment or people's understandingAnalyzing situations or data that require an in-depth evaluation of multiple factorsDrafting reports (mostly PPT)Influencing stakeholders to obtain buy-in for concepts and ideasSharing information in different ways to increase stakeholders' understandingBrainstorming ways of improving a product or situation
