The Senior Applications Specialist will be responsible for contributing to the PT Data Warehouse Project, which aims to upgrade legacy financial systems, consolidate data, and implement new data analysis and reporting technologies. The project is central to the Provincial Treasury's Digital Transformation strategy.
Duties and responsibilities:
Data Warehouse Design and Implementation: Design, implement, and optimize the Data Warehouse, ensuring integration with various data sources.
Business Intelligence Solutions: Develop and implement Business Intelligence (BI) solutions to support data-driven decision-making within Provincial Treasury.
Legacy System Upgrades: Lead efforts to upgrade legacy financial systems and ensure smooth data consolidation into the new Data Warehouse.
Cloud-Based Solutions: Contribute to the transition of the data warehouse to cloud-based solutions for better scalability, accessibility, and security.
Data Analysis & Visualization: Implement and maintain data visualization tools and reporting systems, enabling users to generate their own self-service reports.
Self-Service Reporting: Empower end-users with tools for self-service reporting, reducing dependency on IT teams for ad-hoc reports.
Data Security & Compliance: Ensure that data security and compliance measures are followed, especially when transitioning to the cloud.
Collaboration: Work with other technical teams to ensure seamless data integration and the successful implementation of cloud technologies.
Requirements Required Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in Data Warehousing, BI, and Business Analytics.
Proven experience in upgrading legacy systems and consolidating data.
Strong experience with cloud-based technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.).
Expertise in BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, etc.) and self-service reporting.
Skills:
Strong understanding of data warehousing methodologies and data modeling.
In-depth knowledge of financial systems and their integration.
Proficient in data visualization, reporting tools, and business analysis techniques.
Familiarity with cloud architecture and modern data technologies.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Desired Skills:
Experience with cloud-based Data Warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Google BigQuery, AWS Redshift).
Familiarity with financial systems (IFMS, SAP, Oracle Financials, etc.).
