The AUDA-NEPAD invites applicants who are citizens of African Union Member States for the following position Senior Advocacy and Policy Officer, A2DSRH.
Under the supervision of the Senior Principal Officer in the Bureau of the CEO, the Senior Advocacy Officer will play a crucial role in the strategic advocacy, communications, and legal oversight towards the implementation of the Africa Demographic Dividend and Sexual and Reproductive Health (A2DSRH) within the Office of the CEO. This role will also involve advancing the triple nexus between development, humanitarian and peace actions, particularly focusing on Women, Peace and Security (WPS) and SRH in conflict and post-conflict settings.
Required Skills and Competencies

Experience and extensive knowledge of communications, advocacy, and marketing.
Experience in providing legal advice within the context of international development programs.
Expertise in drafting and reviewing contracts, grant agreements, partnership agreements and other relevant legal documentation.
Experience in working on the triple nexus approach, particularly the interlinkages between humanitarian, development and peace actions, including Women, Peace and Security (WPS) and SRH in conflict and post-conflict settings.
Ability to conceptualize, design and implement major information campaigns on the African continent.
Ability to diplomatically handle sensitive situations with target audiences and cultivate productive relationships.
Excellent writing, facilitation, and presentation skills to provide effective leadership to articulate and promote AUDA-NEPAD and African sectoral positions and compose and defend requests for support or particular actions.
Experience in prudently managing organizational resources and deployment in pursuit of innovative approaches and initiatives.
Extensive experience in working with social media and technology.
Excellent computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, SAP ERP) essential, as well as other media and communications tools.
High level of excellence, accuracy, attention to detail, and thoroughness.
Excellent strategic visioning, planning, implementation, monitoring & evaluation, and reporting skills.
High level of integrity and accountability, flexible approaches to work coupled with enthusiasm, commitment, and energy.
Ability to perform multiple tasks and work under pressure with a wide range of individuals and institutions.
Innovation, creative thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Good organization, planning, and time management skills.
Ability to work with a team and individually.
Proficiency in one of the AU working languages, and fluency in another AU language an added advantage.
Ability to always maintain confidentiality at the highest level.

Education and Experience:
A master's degree in communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, International Relations or any other related field with at least (7) years post-qualification experience in leading a communication of which three (3) years should be at a supervisory level at the public sector, multilateral institutions, and international non-governmental or similar organizations nationally, regionally and/or internationally.
Or
A bachelor's degree in communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, International Relations or any other related field with at least ten (10) years post-qualification experience in leading a communication function within the public sector, multilateral institutions, and international non-governmental or similar organizations nationally, regionally and/or internationally.

Remuneration: Indicative basic salary of US$42,018.78 per annum plus other entitlements e.g. Post Adjustment (57% of basic salary), Housing allowance ($21,832.68 per annum), gratuity (15% of gross salary) in conformity with the rules and procedures applicable to internationally recruited staff of the African Union.
